Angus Barclay is a composer, guitarist and book indexer living in West Yorkshire.
O hai. My tunes are inspired by the landscapes of Britain, my family and friends, my cat, and the odd personal joke which no-one can make head or tail of. Into the mix go elements of jazz, swing, folk, classical, and popular song: the result is, I suppose, my own "thing". As an elderly aunt once remarked, there's nothing to dislike about it.
As a musician, I've been gigging around Yorkshire and beyond for many years. As well as solo concerts, I perform with jazz guitarist Gary Boyle. I've recently been working with folk singer Maggie Boyle, one of the country's leading interpreters of traditional song. I enjoy playing and composing with other friends too, including my wife Catherine, my son Jack, bossa nova guitarist/composer Simon Chandler, and singer Mark Harrison. I'm currently recording a collection of songs and tunes in collaboration with m'colleagues.
I've made three solo cds, which you can buy here. I'll also come and play for you, if you ask me nicely. For this, or any other enquiry, contact me at badmoodbear@gmail.com |
